Who cares about the credit card one is using?

My two least favorite CC companies. I have a Discover card, which is my longest credit card history - but my hands are tied as they don't budge/increase my CLI so I am stuck with a stingy 4k Discover limit vs. my largest limit at 23.5k and all others at least 10k, I have a lot of cards and never can get preapproved for Capital One so I gave up after a few too many tries. I had Synchrony Walmart Mastercard which is now Capital One at $4500 and Capital One will not raise the limit on that either . So apparently my Discover card will now be firmly cemented in the low tier bucket thanks to the this Capital One acquisition.

This "bank" is either completely incompetent or completely corrupt. I had dental work done, and they were the company the dentist used. They never sent me a card and have sent all my bills late so they can charge late fees. Complete scam.

I just got mine in January after citi and wellfargo rejected my app. Citi rejected me again (ive been applying for custom cash though). Sucks because i am a late bloomer to credit card game but all the credit card companies see is a lot of hard inquiry/requests for credit. Have everything on auto pay and never miss a bill.

Will I get points for paying my car insurance having chase unlimited freedom?

Also get MR points if you have an Amex bank checking account! Not a lot but it still gets you MR points Also there is the Charles Schwab investor card which gives you 1.5 cashback. Not the greatest either but I like those cashback going into my investor account. 😌

Chase would be great cards if only they would get rid of the 5/24 rule. Otherwise, there are other cards out there with the same rotating categories or better 🤷🏼‍♀️

It sucks for normal everyday purchases but for people who shop online it’s still decent. But dammit, maybe I have to get double cash card or something

It makes more sense to just use Microsoft rewards as you csn get up to 20:1 per dollar spent just on Microsoft

You can use the Amex checking reward points to transfer partners such as Delta, Marriott, etc..

Verizon just did a refresher on this card happening around August or October 2024. Just got an email regarding new multipliers refresher categories

They just closed 4 of my 6 accounts. I have never missed a payment and all of my cards had 0 balance as I paid my cards off monthly. Their excuse was I haven't paid down enough on my 30 yr mortgage. My mortgage is 4 yrs old and I have alway paid an extra $100 each month and have never been late. This company is ridiculous.

The points game is over. More and more it’s costing 1.5 percent to use a credit or debit card. These credit card people make money by promoting credit card companies. Listen with care

It's a game. Paid off CC debt, credit goes down. Glad we don't need to borrow. It's a game that rewards people that like to be in perpetual debt.

I've always paid my balances off in full and this is the first time I won't be able to pay it off in full and was thinking my APR meant I'd get charged that 20 plus% each month... Heck I can handle a 1- 2% interest for the next month... In the back of my mind I was thinking there's no way people with credit card debt get charged 20% each month lol

I wish I could justify the platinum, but I like simplicity. Personally I prefer cash back going into my bank account

I don't know why, but it always irks me that Amex won't issue cash back via check/direct deposit. Almost everyone else does.

I pay off my bill at the end of the month (usually the very last day) in which I accrue the charges. My points apply sooner and I start the new month with a zero balance.

The thing keeping from going all in with Amex is the fact that their cash back and points cards do not work together, I currently have a BCE and it's great for gas and groceries and the fact of the low exchange rate from converting points to cash. Anything less than a 1/1 rate is ridiculous.

Dillards has an Amex card as well but it’s a pretty crummy card unless you want to earn discounts shopping at Dillards. Macys has an Amex card, a bit better card. Bloomingdale’s has a card that pays out to store credits works out to 1.5x per dollar in rewards to value.

Then there’s the Schwab Platinum, but not for this audience…

I’m 47 my credit score is 797

Not everyone is as articulate as you are explaining all three options. Can you do an advance video on the transfer partners program. I need to learn how to get the most out of my MR points. Not looking at once in a lifetime trips but good return on domestic flights.
